Take the Fit CheckDenver HR FAQs
Yes. Denver sets its own minimum wage for work done in the City and County of Denver, and it's higher than the statewide minimum. It changes every year on January 1, so I don't print a figure here; Denver Labor's minimum wage page always has the current rate. Denver isn't the only place in Colorado with a local minimum wage, and the state's rule is to use the highest one that applies.
Yes. Along with Denver itself, I work with businesses in Aurora, Littleton, Englewood, Arvada, Lakewood, Brighton, Thornton and Westminster, and smaller surrounding communities are welcome. Teams with people in other states are fine too. Outside the metro, I also work with businesses in Colorado Springs, Pueblo and Fort Collins & Loveland.
Mostly remotely, by phone and video. I'm based in Colorado Springs, and I come to your location in person when the work calls for it, like trainings and some leadership meetings, while mediation can happen either way. Once I know what you need, I'll suggest what makes sense for your team.
Hourly help is from $115/hr, depending on the type of work. A monthly partnership starts around $1,950/mo and scales with the support you need. Project work is scoped individually and quoted up front, so you know the investment before I start. Most handbook projects start around $900; a full rebuild costs more than an update. The first consultation is free.
A PEO, or professional employer organization, generally becomes a co-employer of your team and handles payroll and benefits. HRish isn't a PEO. You stay the employer, you keep your payroll and your providers, and I work alongside them as your HR support, whether that's one project or an ongoing partnership.
Yes, though I'm not a recruiting or staffing agency. I design your hiring process and support it: job descriptions and postings, interview guides, sitting in on or conducting interviews, and onboarding for a new hire's first 90 days. On a monthly partnership, I may help with your recruiting on a short-term basis.
